أحمد معلا Ahmad Moalla

وُلد في بانياس عام ١٩٥٨، وتخرّج من كلية الفنون الجميلة في دمشق — قسم الاتصالات البصرية — عام ١٩٨١. ثم حصل على دبلوم المدرسة الوطنية العليا للفنون الزخرفية في باريس عام ١٩٨٧، ودرّس في كلية الفنون الجميلة بدمشق من ١٩٨٩ حتى ١٩٩٦. عمل في مجال التصميم الغرافيكي والملصقات وأغلفة الكتب، وهو متفرّغ حالياً للعمل الفني. Born in Baniyas in 1958, he graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus — Department of Visual Communications — in 1981. He then obtained a diploma from the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1987, and taught at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus from 1989 to 1996. He worked in graphic design, posters and book covers, and is currently dedicated full-time to artistic work.

عُرف عنه قراءاته المعمّقة للتاريخ وبحثه في مجرياته ووقائعه، كما يُعرف برؤيته البعيدة للأشياء وإدراكه المعرفي لحقائقها، وتجسيدها في اللوحة بفهم بصري مؤثر وحس وجداني، عبر تشكيلات كثيفة الإيحاء للشخوص الإنسانية. He is known for his deep readings of history and research into its events and facts, as well as his far-sighted vision of things and his cognitive perception of their truths, embodying them on canvas with a moving visual understanding and emotional sensibility, through densely suggestive formations of human figures.
