يوسف المصوّر هو الاسم الذي يُفتتح به تاريخ الرسم الحلبي. ازدهرت الأيقونوغرافيا السورية في منتصف القرن السابع عشر على يديه، وكان رسّاماً وخطاطاً ومترجماً، ما جعله من المؤسسين الأوائل للتقليد البصري الحلبي. Yousef Al-Musawwir is the name with which the history of Aleppan painting opens. Syrian iconography flourished in the mid-seventeenth century at his hands, and he was a painter, calligrapher and translator, making him one of the earliest founders of the Aleppan visual tradition.
